This week on The Short List ...

Health.

Last Monday, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, released new blood pressure guidelines.  This news article highlights the changes and how Americans across the country will be affected.

For more information on blood pressure and the updated guidelines, visit the American Heart Association's website.

Food.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, it is easy to overindulge.  MyFitnessPal has created 9 Thanksgiving food swaps to save on calories - recipes included!  Check it out here.

Mindfulness.

I have always loved coloring, even before the adult coloring books became a fad.  I found this website that has "adult" Thanksgiving coloring pages.  Instead of taking a nap after you eat this year, unwind by being a kid again.

Video.

This video clip is from the PBS documentary Unnatural Causes.  While it is a few years old, the issues discussed in the video clip are still very applicable today.

"The U.S. is one of the richest countries in the world, yet we rank 29th for life expectancy. We spent more than twice what other countries spend per capita on health care. Why aren't we healthier?"
